They made it. You can too

Students who started where you are share their stories.

One of the best decisions of my life

As a former student, I would like to thank DÜS Eckert from the bottom of my heart. I came to you during a difficult phase of my life, and in retrospect it was one of the best decisions of my life. The school and all the staff supported me not only linguistically, but also on a personal level. There I acquired excellent skills that later helped me learn German to C1 level.

Thanks to this solid foundation, I was ultimately able to realize my dream and find my dream job in Germany. I am deeply grateful for your support, your patience, and your dedication. This time will always remain a cherished memory for me.

Found a job right after the exam

When I came to Germany, I didn't speak any German at all. After a conversation with the Jobcenter, I came across DÜS Eckert and I have to say that I made the right decision. From day one, I received support and help.

Our teacher was fantastic, very competent and also funny. I went to class knowing that a great school day awaited me. Now I have a B2 certificate, found a job right after the exam, and am very well integrated into German society.

I was very proud

At the beginning, I didn't understand anything at all, but I didn't give up. On the very first day, I learned how to ask a question and said my first sentence in German. That moment was very special for me, because my teacher was happy and because I myself was very proud.

When I was at A2 level, I was able to explain my problems at the hospital without a translator. This joy of learning German motivated me to do my homework regularly, and that's how I passed my B1 certificate.

Not just grammar

The B1 course was an important milestone on my path to recognition as a pharmacist in Germany. I learned a lot, not just grammar, but also how to speak confidently in professional settings. The course helped me gain confidence and take the next step. Now I'm preparing for the Fachsprachenprüfung.

The teacher is simply amazing!

I took German courses from A1 to B1 at this school and it was a truly great experience! The school is very well organized, modern, and offers a pleasant, friendly learning atmosphere.

The teacher explains everything clearly and understandably and manages to make the lessons interesting and motivating. Thanks to her support, I passed the B1 exam on the first try with a perfect score!

The first step into a new life

After receiving my B1 certificate, I'm now studying B2 and waiting for the recognition of my diploma from the University of Münster. Today I can communicate well with people and also with official authorities.

I'm proud of what I've achieved and strive for even more success in the future. I wish the teacher and the DÜS Eckert school all the best and continued success.

That's where the journey begins

My German learning started with my first steps in Germany, but it was only at DÜS Eckert that I was truly able to master the language. Thanks to a talented teacher and the exciting topics in class, I really wanted to form sentences and respond. That's exactly where the journey into a new language begins.

Now I'm preparing for the next language level and will soon be working as a logistics coordinator.

German, every day

Learning German was a given for me, because I live here. In the course, I didn't just learn the language, but also German culture. The many conversations and the teacher especially helped me integrate better.

Now I work with my wife in her business and speak German every day.

Your questions. Answered.

Here's what most people want to know before signing up.

Will I really learn German online? Isn’t in-person better?

You’ll get the same lessons, the same exams, and the same BAMF certificate as our in-person students. Your teachers are BAMF-certified, and they’re trained specifically for online integration courses.

Your classes are live. You’ll see your classmates, work in small groups, and get direct feedback. The only difference is that everyone joins from home, not a classroom.

We’ve taught 35,000+ students since 2004. We’ve offered online integration courses since they were introduced in 2020. Let’s get you to B1.

Are the DTZ exam and LiD test also online?

No. Both exams are always in person. Everything else stays online.

Take your exams with us in Düsseldorf or Essen, or at a partner exam centre near you. We have partners almost everywhere in Germany. Together, we’ll find the closest location, pick a date, and help you with your registration.

I already speak some German. Do I start from zero?

No. Before your course starts, you’ll take a free placement test (Einstufungstest). We’ll tell you your German level and where to begin.

Self-paying? You can take the test online from home.

If you receive government support for your integration course (from the BAMF or Jobcenter, for example), you have to take the placement test in person. Either at our school in Düsseldorf, Essen or one of our partner schools near you. We’ll find the closest one and help you book it.

Already speak some German? You might join at A2.1 or higher, saving you weeks. Brand new? Start at A1.1.

Do I have to be in Germany to take the online integration course?

Your Wohnsitz (registered address) should be in Germany. But you don’t have to be inside Germany every day.

Short trips home, business travel, or family visits abroad are fine. As long as your Wohnsitz stays active, your seat in class stays yours.

If a government office helps pay for your course, check with them before longer trips. They have their own rules for time abroad (Ortsabwesenheit).

Can I take the online course while working full-time?

Many of our students do. You’ll pick from three fixed time slots: morning, afternoon, or evening.

Evening courses run three to four evenings per week, so they fit around shifts. Morning and afternoon courses are more intense and finish faster.

Whichever slot you choose, you’ll need to attend routinely. Switching slots later is possible, but it means moving to a different course.

How long does the online course take?

Most morning and afternoon courses run 20 lessons per week. Each module takes about 5 weeks, with 7 modules total. That’s around 8 months of lessons.

Evening courses run at a slower pace, with either 12 or 16 lessons per week. The full course finishes in 12 to 14 months.

Add 2–4 weeks at the start for BAMF approval, if you qualify for government support.

What if I don’t own a laptop or tablet?

You’ll need a tablet or laptop. Smartphones aren’t allowed (BAMF rule).

Don’t have one? No need to buy one. We’ll ship you a free tablet to use for the whole course. You ship it back when you finish.

I don’t have Wi-Fi. Can I join with mobile data?

Yes, if your plan can handle it. Live video classes use roughly 50 GB per month, so check your data allowance first.

Home Wi-Fi is more reliable for daily lessons. But a strong mobile plan or hotspot also works, especially where Wi-Fi isn’t an option.

Will the BAMF or Jobcenter still pay for the course if I take it online?

Yes. Online integration courses follow the same funding rules as in-person courses. You don’t lose any support by learning from home.

In your free consultation, we’ll check what you qualify for. Then we handle the paperwork for you, from your Berechtigungsschein to your Kostenbefreiung.
